The journal

The science, the rituals, the quiet work.

This is where we publish what we know — slowly, deliberately, only when we have something worth saying. Some of it is the science: how the cycle actually works, why the buffer week exists, what the literature says about LED and what it doesn't, how to read a peel ingredient list without being charmed by the bottle. Some of it is the rituals: the three-step morning that earns its place, the cleansers we keep recommending, the device we don't, the seventeen seconds at the end of a shower that change a face.

And some of it is the quiet work — the part of skin that has nothing to do with a tube or a wand, the sleep, the stress, the fortnight before a wedding where everything in your life is conspiring to break out and your job is to refuse. We write about that because most people don't.

Three pieces to begin with

Why twenty-eight days, and not twenty-seven

The real biology behind the cycle, the dermatology literature on stratum corneum turnover, and why we picked the number we picked.
